How to use it
Enter a quote if you have one to see how it compares with the Oklahoma and U.S. averages and what it adds to your monthly payment. Without a quote, the calculator shows the statewide average. Add your monthly payment before insurance (from the mortgage calculator) to see insurance's share of the total.
What the Oklahoma average is
LendingTree's State of Home Insurance 2026 study, updated Jun 8, 2026, puts Oklahoma's average homeowners premium at $5,298 a year, the highest of any state and 121.2% above the U.S. average of $2,395. That's $441.50 a month in escrow.
The study used rates from Quadrant Information Services pulled in February 2026, for a policy with $350,000 of dwelling coverage, $100,000 of personal liability, $1,000 of medical payments and a $1,000 deductible. LendingTree notes the rates are for comparison and that your quotes will likely differ. Nationally, it found rates rose 46.8% cumulatively from 2020 to 2025.
Why there's no county or ZIP estimate
We haven't found a reliable public source of homeowners premiums by Oklahoma county, so we don't make one up. Premiums depend on the home's exact location, age, construction and roof, the coverage and deductible you choose, your claims history, and the insurer. The only way to know your number is to get quotes.
About the scaled estimate
If you change the dwelling coverage, the calculator also shows the Oklahoma average multiplied by your coverage ÷ $350,000. That's a crude assumption, labeled as one: real premiums don't rise in proportion to coverage. It's there only to show the order of magnitude.
How insurance shows up in your payment
If your loan has an escrow account, insurance is collected monthly, so $5,298 a year adds about $441.50 to every payment. At closing you may also prepay the first year's premium and fund a couple of months of escrow; the closing cost calculator includes both.

Questions
How much is homeowners insurance in Oklahoma?
LendingTree's 2026 study puts the statewide average at $5,298 a year for $350,000 of dwelling coverage with a $1,000 deductible, the highest of any state. Your premium will differ.
How does Oklahoma compare with the national average?
It's 121.2% higher: $5,298 versus $2,395 nationally, in the same study.
Can you estimate insurance for my county or ZIP code?
No. We don't have reliable county-level premium data, so the calculator shows the statewide average and your own quote rather than a guess.
Does the deductible change the estimate?
We have no Oklahoma data on how deductibles change premiums, so the calculator doesn't adjust for it. Ask your agent to quote the same policy with a few different deductibles.
